Terms & conditions
Last updated: 12 October 2026
1. What this covers
These terms apply when you engage Cwd.studio of Nicosia, Cyprus for design or development work. Anything specific to your project lives in the written quote we send you, and where the quote and this page disagree, the quote wins.
2. Quotes and scope
Every project gets a written quote with a fixed price, a defined scope and a timeline, counted from the day your content arrives, before any work begins. That figure does not move on its own. If you ask for something outside the agreed scope, we price it and get your approval in writing before touching it. Nothing is added to your invoice that you have not seen and agreed first.
3. The first concept
Within 72 hours of your deposit clearing we send you a real design of your homepage. Not a mood board, not a template with your logo dropped in. An actual design of your business.
If it isn’t right, we change it. The first concept includes up to three rounds of changes at no extra cost, within the brief you approved. Further rounds, or a change to the brief itself, are quoted before we start them. No code is written until you approve the design.
The deposit reserves your slot in our calendar and is not refundable once we have started work on the concept, because that time can no longer be sold to anyone else. What it buys you is the certainty that nothing is built until you are happy with the design.
4. Payment
- Custom builds and Shopify stores. Fifty per cent to reserve the build slot, the balance on completion before the site goes to your domain. The deposit is refundable in full until we start work. Once work has started it is not, because the time has been spent.
- Shopify care plans. Billed monthly in advance. Cancel any time with thirty days’ notice.
- Managed plans. A one-off build fee of €450, paid before we start building your site, then the yearly fee, billed in advance. If you move up to a custom build within 12 months, the build fee comes off its price. Non-payment suspends the service after a fourteen-day grace period, and we will chase you twice before that happens.
5. What we need from you
Text, photos, logins and answers, in reasonable time. Our timelines are counted from the day your content lands, not the day you pay, and we tell you exactly what we need at the start so there are no surprises. If content stalls for more than sixty days we may close the project and invoice for the work completed, with the deposit counted towards it and not refunded.
6. Ownership
Custom builds and Shopify stores. Once the final invoice is settled, the code, the design and the domain are yours outright. You can hand the whole thing to another developer and we will help with the transfer. We keep the right to show the finished site in our portfolio unless you ask us in writing not to.
Managed plans. This is a rental and we say so everywhere. The one-off build fee pays for building and setting up your site. It does not buy the template or the code. The template and the underlying code remain ours and are licensed to you while the subscription is active. Your content stays yours. Domains registered under a managed plan are administered by us for continuity, are never repurposed, and can be transferred out on request.
7. Third-party services
Some projects need services we do not control, such as Shopify, a payment provider, a booking tool or a domain registrar. Their fees and their terms are between you and them. We will set them up, explain them and tell you what they cost before you commit.
8. After launch
We fix anything we built that does not work as agreed, at no charge, for thirty days after launch. Beyond that, changes to a custom site are quoted when you need them. Shopify stores can go on a Shopify care plan. It is optional and nothing in your handover depends on buying one.
9. Liability
We build carefully and test properly, but no website is guaranteed against every failure, outage or attack. Our liability for any project is limited to what you paid us for it. We are not liable for lost profit, lost business or indirect losses, and we are not responsible for content you supply or for the accuracy of prices and claims you ask us to publish. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Ending the work
Either side can walk away in writing. If you stop a project mid-build, you pay for the work completed to that point, with the deposit counted towards it and not refunded, and we hand over what exists. If we stop, you pay only for work delivered and we return anything you supplied.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction. If something goes wrong, come to us first. Most of it is a misunderstanding that takes ten minutes to fix.
